2023 Wrap Up
This year has brought change, clarity, and some challenging times that I am grateful for. I was fortunate to consult with teams at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the United Nations and Gates Ventures which all provided unique experiences towards my Doctoral work I look forward to wrapping up this year. I visited , Kigali, where I managed a high level meeting at the Geneva and met the DG of the WHAWorld Health Organization, and , Cancun and spent the summer in PuertoRico with the UN. NewYork
I reached a personal goal of becoming trained as an and NLP coach giving me tools and methods to effectively partner with women seeking to show up fully and excel. And ended the year being selected for the Board of the Washington Global Health Alliance ICF which I look forward to participating fully in the new year. WGHA
What I know is important to remember and carry forward…
1. Celebrate what you have: the loved ones you have with you and those looking over you, your physical and mental health, your access to nourishment and safety. Celebrate and honor them for those that don’t have the luxury to do so.
2. Find a way to fully embrace that you have more power than you realize: your words, actions, and resources have the power to lift others and completely change their condition. Even a small gesture can make a big impact.
3. There is so much data collected in different ways that point to the same truth: the world’s nations are not doing enough, we are not doing enough, to protect and empower women and girls, especially those that are minoritized. Do your part in whatever way you can, from your home, to your school, your place of work, worship, where you shop, and where you celebrate. Notice the reality of women is to not be treated equal to men. Do your part in creating that change.
